Arizona Newborn Photographer Lizzy McMillan specializes in capturing your family history. Those tiny fingers and toes, the way the fit so perfectly in Daddy’s hands, the sleepy milk smiles; these are the things that are so short lived and why we like to capture these sweet moments early on in your baby’s life.
Newborn photography sessions are held in our Downtown Mesa, Arizona newborn photography studio. Sessions take place when babies are between five and fourteen days old. This is to ensure that your baby is still in the super-sleepy stage. This will allow for easier posing and better images for your family to treasure.
As a professional Arizona newborn photographer, Momento Studios is also experienced with “older” newborns. At Momento Studios, we feel everyone should have the opportunity to have their little bundle of joy documented.
We strongly suggest that your session take place in the first 2 weeks after birth, but we do offer newborn sessions up to six weeks after birth. This is assuming you are ok with baby being awake and/or swaddled during their session.
The studio calendar fills up quickly, so we encourage you to reserve your session on the calendar before baby is born. We tentatively book your newborn session for 7 days after your due-date, and confirm a session date after baby has arrived.
It is important that you contact Momento Studios within 72 hours of baby’s birth, so we can confirm your session date and time on the calendar.
A WORD ABOUT SAFETY…
Your baby’s comfort and safety are our top priority. Our team is trained in infant CPR, and we take great pride in being experts in newborn and baby safety, posing, and handling infants. Due to our extensive work with multiples and NICU babies, our entire staff is up to date with all vaccines, including the Tdap (Pertussis/Whooping Cough) vaccine.
**Please be sure that anyone handling your baby for newborn portraits has received the Pertussis Vaccine, is licensed and insured. We are OBYGN and Pediatrician approved.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Newborn photography is very hands-on! As such, you must be comfortable with us handling your baby during the session.
The camera room will be warmed to 80-85 degrees and a white noise machine will help to soothe baby into a deep sleep. Parents are invited to watch the session, or relax in the climate-controlled Parent Lounge.
The majority of the images are captured with baby unclothed with wraps, hats, headbands etc. Our prop & mini-wardrobe selection is extensive. Momento Studios provides a myriad of both neutral and colorful high-end wraps, headbands, bonnets, hats, ultra soft fabrics and knits, fur rugs, outfits and custom handmade props.
Of course we love to incorporate your sentimental items into your session too! Your baby’s session will be fully styled and prepared prior to your arrival at Momento Studios.
All of our newborn collections include your session with Arizona newborn photographer, Lizzy McMillan, access to our extensive prop & wardrobe inventory, a pre-session consultation and artistic editing.

The Signature Newborn Session is our most popular newborn photography session option. Your session is completely customized to your style, interests and family. Arizona newborn photographer Lizzy McMillan and her team have created a one-of-a-kind newborn portrait experience that allows moms, dads, and older siblings to relax and enjoy the newborn photography session.
Most babies are done within 90-120 minutes, but some take longer. These sessions are not rushed, we work until we get the photographs we need.
We take our time, and follow baby’s lead while creating beautiful artwork that is unique for your family. This session includes multiple set ups and poses {a typical session yields 8-10 set ups/”looks” with varying angles, props and modifications}.
Additionally, you are able to include older siblings, family and mom/dad portraits in this session as well. For a complete portrait experience the Signature Newborn Session is your best choice.

The Petite Newborn Session is a simple, baby-only option and is 30-60 minutes in length, featuring two set ups of your newborn only. The Petite Newborn Session includes your choice of 5 digital low-resolution digital images printable to 8×10.
This is a great solution when budget is a concern but you still value beautiful artwork from a skilled professional.

MULTIPLES {Twins, Triplets, Quads+}
Multiples are our specialty at Momento Studios, and we do not charge extra for your extra bundles of joy.
Arizona newborn photographer Lizzy McMillan and Momento Studios have photographed more twins, triplets, quadruplets and quintuplets than any other photographer in Arizona! Additionally, Lizzy is nationally recognized as the “Multiples Whisperer” TM and a leading authority on photographing newborn multiples.
Safety is our highest priority when photographing all babies, but especially with multiples. We have trained posing assistants that are highly experienced and educated in safe baby-snuggling practices for our newborn multiples sessions.
Momento Studios is not an in-home or garage studio. We are a boutique portrait studio located in a historic building in the heart of Downtown Mesa, Arizona. We are fully licensed, certified, insured and in good standing with:
